The We Build Africa Organization held a special event in late February during which children of the Amosima Catholic School in Ghana's Central Region handed out clothing donations to their less privileged classmates. The donation was part of a larger religious school celebration spanning the whole week. The event, which was largely made possible by generous contributions from our partners in Germany, had the double purpose of providing basic clothing items to poor pupils and, at the same time, teaching the kids about the act of giving in accordance with the school's religious values.

While we were originally hoping to distribute pieces of clothing to over 150 school children, we could really only benefit the youngest ones in the end. This was the first time we collected material donations from abroad. The unpredictability of what items would be donated, insufficient storage capacities, as well as expensive and inconvenient shipping were the main obstacles to this project. Still, having collected valuable experience, we hope that our international partners will continue supporting our efforts to help make similar projects come to live in the future.

Amidst excited children, the school's headmaster expressed his appreciation of our work that once more put a smile on the childrens' faces. He said that this gesture would have a significant and positive impact on the kids. He also urged other institutions and individuals from the community to take up a part in providing the basic needs of deprived children. Apart from that, the school was currently looking for ways to equip its own IT class room, the headmaster explained. He said that they are currently looking for any individuals or organizations that can donate used computers to make this project a reality.

With your help we can continue making a visible impact onto the lives of deprived communities in Africa. We hope that we will be able to share many more happy photos like the ones in this post with you.

We need your support to continue our mission. Help us bring empowerment and sustainability to deprived communities in Ghana. Help us make our vision of an empowered, sustainable, and egalitarian Africa a reality!
